The only difference is how much of it your guests go home with. Both jars are glass with a metal lid, both are recyclable, and both are filled with the same raw coastal flora honey we sell in the shop.

45g mini jar

The classic favour. Enough for a few slices of toast and a cup of tea, small enough on the table that it does not compete with the place setting. Best for weddings over 80 guests and anything where the count is high and the budget is fixed.

A gift rather than a token. This is the one for smaller guest lists, corporate thank yous, hospitality welcome trays, and anywhere the gift is doing more work than a place marker. It looks and feels like something bought deliberately.

Put your names on it

Every favour order gets its own printed label. Send us your names, the date, and anything you want to say, and we will set it, send you a proof, and print it once you are happy.

What you can change: your names or the occasion, the date, a short message, and the label colours.

What stays: a small Bumble & Bee mark on the back label, along with the ingredient and origin information the law requires us to print. The front of the jar is yours.

If you are working with a stationer or a designer and want the label to match your suite, send us the artwork and we will print to it, within our label size and material.

Couriered nationwide, or collected from us in Pumula. Delivery is quoted with your order.

Made by the people who keep the bees

We are not a gift company that buys honey in. We keep the hives, we harvest the honey, and we decant, label and pack every jar by hand in Pumula on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

It is raw, which means it was never heated, never filtered and never irradiated. It is not uniform. Two batches from different months will not look identical, because the bees were working different flowers. There is occasionally a bit of pollen or wax in the jar, and every so often a bee, which we mention on every product page and will mention here too.

That is what you are giving your guests: honey that tastes of a specific place in a specific season, rather than something engineered to look the same in every jar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order?

Twenty five jars, in either size. Below that you are welcome to order from the shop, but you will not get a custom label.

Allow 4 weeks from the day you approve your label proof. For a wedding, enquire two to three months out and we will hold your slot. Later than that, ask anyway, because we can often still help.
Yes. Names, date and a short message are allowed. You get a proof before anything is printed.

No. Raw honey does not expire. It may crystallise, which is a sign it is real and unheated rather than a fault, and it goes back to liquid in a bowl of warm water.

Because it is unfiltered. You will see pollen and sometimes a fleck of wax, and on rare occasions a bee. Filtered honey is clearer because it has had everything taken out of it, including the pollen.

Honey is suitable for vegetarians but not vegans. The honey is not certified as halaal or kosher.

Yes, by courier, quoted with your order because favour boxes are heavy. You are also welcome to organise your own courier or collection from Pumula on the KZN South Coast.
Yes, one jar at retail price, credited against an order over 25 jars.
Yes. Same jars, same minimum, your branding on the label instead of names. Tell us your quantity and date in the form.
Yes, as long as the total is 25 jars or more. The pricing will be adjusted to reflect the mixed order.
