How to Store this Honey
Keep it cool: Store creamed honey in a cool pantry or cupboard. Its velvety texture is perfectly maintained at temperatures below 20°C.
Refrigerate during hot weather: If your kitchen gets warm (above 24°C), move the creamed honey to the fridge. High heat will melt the microscopic crystals, causing the honey to separate and turn back into liquid.
Soften at room temperature: If your creamed honey becomes too firm to spread after being in the fridge, simply leave it on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes before use.
Seal tight and keep clean: Just like liquid honey, keep the jar tightly sealed and avoid using wet utensils to preserve its quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does creamed honey contain dairy, cream, or additives?
No. Despite its name, pure creamed honey is 100% natural honey with absolutely no dairy, cream, preservatives, or artificial ingredients added. The “creamy” description refers purely to its smooth, buttery texture, which is achieved entirely through a natural crystallisation process.
Why is my creamed honey separating or turning back into liquid?
Creamed honey relies on cool temperatures to maintain its stable, buttery structure. If it is exposed to warmth such as a hot kitchen, direct sunlight, or temperatures above 24°C then the microscopic crystals will begin to melt, causing a layer of liquid honey to form at the top of the jar.
How should I store creamed honey to keep it smooth?
The best place to store creamed honey is in a cool pantry or cupboard away from direct heat. If your kitchen gets very hot (especially during summer), you can store it in the fridge to keep it firm. If it becomes too hard to spread straight from the fridge, simply leave it at room temperature for a few minutes before using.
Is creamed honey healthier or less healthy than liquid honey?
Nutritionally, they are exactly identical. Because the creaming process is completely physical (gently mixing and cooling) rather than chemical, it does not alter the honey’s health properties. If the liquid honey used was raw and unfiltered, the resulting creamed honey retains all of those same natural enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen benefits.
Can I use creamed honey the same way as regular liquid honey?
Yes, you can use it for almost anything you would use liquid honey for. It is exceptional as a non-drip spread on toast, crumpets, and biscuits, or stirred into warm tea and oatmeal. The only difference is that because it is thick, it won’t pour easily, so it is best scooped out with a spoon or knife.
Does creamed honey expire?
No, creamed honey does not expire. Just like traditional liquid honey, pure creamed honey has an indefinite shelf life and will practically never spoil if it is stored correctly in a sealed container.
